Do You Have to Work Overtime?Navigation: Home > Employment Law> Overtime Pay
|
|
The short answer is yes. If your employer ask you to work overtime, you must do so, and you can be terminated for refusing to do so. The Fair Labor and Standards Law does not set limits on the amount of hours an employee works in any week or day; it only specifies that if such hours are worked, the employee must receive overtime pay. Again, however, some state laws provide more guidance. |
