Due Diligence

 

In the corporate securities and investment context, due diligence is the process of checking the accuracy of information contained in a company public statement, such as a prospectus, before recommending that company to others, i.e., due diligence is the careful professional scrutiny of assets and liabilities of a company to ascertain their existence and value, normally in preparation for an acquisition or liquidation.
